I call on the UK government to maintain leadership to tackle malnutrition for the world's most vulnerable people

I believe in a world where no child should die of hunger.

But today, over 150 million children are malnourished, contributing to almost 3 million child deaths each year.

With the Covid-19 pandemic worsening this crisis, investment in nutrition is now more important than ever.

As a global leader in tackling malnutrition, I am calling on the UK government to renew its commitment to funding life-saving nutrition services for the world's poorest people, and to ensure nutrition is fully integrated with other key aid programmes.

Urgent action is desperately needed to tackle child malnutrition

The coronavirus pandemic has resulted in an alarming rise in malnutrition across the world, with an additional 10,000 child deaths predicted each month. Every one of these is preventable.

At the same time, UK Aid commitments to nutrition are running out this year, meaning that life-saving support is at risk of being taken away, just when it is needed most.

We believe that no child should die of hunger.

Please tell the UK government to maintain its vital commitments to tackling malnutrition in 2021.
